Spending the weekend out in the Berg at @cathedralpeakhotel has been wonderful so far! We arrived yesterday afternoon and so far have stuffed ourselves silly at the buffet, met Bambi and friends and been on a beautiful little stroll to find the trout and bass dams. It’s so beautiful here, all the flowers are in bloom and the weather is set to be lovely...we may even get to dip our toes in the pool later. Now it’s time for a quick nap (holding thumbs Everly goes down well so we can all get a few 😴’s). Happy Saturday everyone 💕 #sponsored
A few months ago, our family wrapped up renovations on one of the beautiful, original sandstone houses here on our farm. The farmhouse is called Bedford and with the renovations complete (for now!), I went about setting up the house on AirBnb and we welcomed our first set of guests over the Aloe Festival weekend. Since then we have had a number of guests stay at Bedford, and I thought it was about time I shared the space with my readers and followers (plus, I’d love to share our beautiful farm with you and have you come and stay with us!). Happy 1 year my darling #EverlyRoseHutton. 12 incredible months of loving you, getting to know you, nursing you, nurturing you, feeding you all kinds of weird and wonderful foods, teaching you and most importantly...learning from you. You’ve been an absolute delight and made us actually want to have more babies. You are a confident and smiley young lady, you love people and you love music. You’re also incredibly strong willed and boy oh boy do you love your food. While you only give cuddles once in a while, when you do, you give them with such sincerity. You aren’t walking or even crawling yet (although it could be any day now) but you will when you’re good and ready. Here’s to all the years to come little one. Stay as sweet as you are. Thank you Jesus for picking me to be her mom, and for blessing both @thedaleyvlog and I with such a precious daughter. A year ago today, at this exact time, @thedaleyvlog and I started our long drive to the hospital after a strange morning of feeling weird and not knowing whether or not I was actually in labor. I had no idea that Everly would only actually make her appearance the next afternoon...and I was in for a mammoth 36 hours of labor, but in the end, it was all worth it to look upon her beautiful face (and hear her almighty scream as she arrived into the world). I also look back at this last photo of my bump and I’m so proud of my body...yes, I put on nearly 20kgs (which is crazy considering Everly only weighed 3!) but this body of mine grew a child, then birthed a child, and then nourished a child for a whole year, and now it’s doing exactly the same thing again for the new little life growing inside of me. Tomorrow, #EverlyRoseTurns1 and we are having a small celebration with family and friends in the garden. I think her party is far more to celebrate Dale and I actually making it this far than for her to enjoy, but either way, we have made it this far and I’d say we’ve done a pretty darn good job, darling! Enough reflecting...I’m off to go and ice a few cakes now and get #allthepink bits and pieces out for her Flamingo themed birthday tomorrow 🎊🎉🌸🎂
Oh my heart! I took this photo about a month ago when we received our new @ubuntubaba Stage 2 Carrier (its amazing by the way...and just as comfy as the stage 1!) and I can’t believe how much my little girl has changed in such a short time! She’s got the same cheeky smile, but so much about her face has changed. She’s turning 1 in just a few days and I’m just beside myself with all sorts of emotions (it could be the fact that I’m currently pregnant with her little brother/sister...but I think it’s also because so much has changed in our lives over the last year). #EverlyRoseHutton you are a delight my little one! I just loved this happy hibiscus hiding behind the toilets at the @thelitchiorchard. It was just minding its own business, taking in the sunshine, and looking at it made me so happy. Here’s to another month flying by (this one is extra special to me as it’s my little girl’s first birthday month!). Happy September everyone 🌺
Me and my “I-look-nothing-like-my-mommy” mini-me! #EverlyRoseHutton thank you for making me a mother, for teaching me that there’s more to life than worrying about dirty dishes and laundry (although I WILL still spend the majority of my life cleaning up after you and around you...because that’s just the kind of person I am and I’m okay with that 🙈🤣). Thank you for teaching me that I’m stronger than I ever thought possible, that I am a good mom (even though I worried about this so much before you arrived!) and that I’m pretty good at cooking! Or rather, that I’m pretty good at preparing you delicious AND healthy & nutritious meals...either that or you’re such a greedy guts that you’ll eat anything and everything (most days I’m convinced it’s the latter 🤣). I love you to the moon and back ❤️
