@thedaleyvlog snapped this lovely @instaxsa shot of me the day before I went into labor. We had just finished setting up Everly’s big girl bed (our awesome @cozicot converts into a very sweet little toddler bed and as she wasn’t walking yet and her brother won’t need to cot for a good few months we decided to get her used to this before transitioning her into an actual bed). It was a very special moment between the two of us, and im so glad to have the moment captured to remember always. While Everly has been a super star with the adjustment to big sister (she mostly just gets on with life and doesn’t really pay her little brother much attention) she has been acting out more (especially if I am around) and just generally being a bit more wingey and grumpy. It’s so unlike her usual happy self and I’m finding it hard to be patient with her and not overreact or loose my cool...she is still so young and I know she will settle soon enough. I’m trying to be gentler to myself (it’s a huge transition from 1 to 2 and switching between being a mommy to a toddler and a newborn isn’t easy...and also recovering from a Caesar is tough too...although surprisingly I’m healing up a whole lot faster than the first time around!). We’ll get there though, just taking it each moment, hour, nap (or lack there of) and day as it comes 💕 Please do leave me tips for making this transition smoother...would love to hear what’s worked for you! #EverlyRoseHutton #twoundertwo #toddlermeltdown #nowwearefour
Valentine’s Day looked a little different this year...we welcomed the day of love by changing a nappy for the upteenth time, romantically reminding Dale to pass me the ice packs for my engorged boobs, all while simultaneously wiping vomit off my night gown 🤣 But you know what @thedaleyvlog, I wouldn’t have it any other way ❤️ Beautiful photo by @deborahann_photo, taken about a million years ago when Farmboy and I were carefree and childless...and yet I feel more filled with love and joy today than I ever felt possible. #AaronJackHutton is loving his @nurtureonenesting pillow as much as Everly did! Aaron sleeps in his own room, in the family heirloom bassinet, and this cloud like cocoon really makes baby feel safe and secure, and has given us hours upon hours of newborn sleep 😍 I love the idea behind these cushions, and always recommend them to new moms and dads! To my #EverlyRoseHutton, you have blown me away over the past few days. You have been staying with Granny M since the day I felt my first labor pains (last Wednesday) and have taken all this newness in your stride. You’ve been true to your character, easy going, and a delight to be around. I’ve missed you terribly over the past 6 days, but you have just thrived (this is evident by the fact that you are now...just about...walking by yourself....hooray! 🎉). I was really nervous to bring you home today, worried how you’d react to the strange new presence in your home, how you’d adjust to being back in your big girl bed (we literally transitioned you out of your cot and into your big bed the day before we went off to hospital to welcome your little brother into the world!) and you have been such a star. I was also nervous to see how you would react to me feeding Aaron, and how you’d be around him (you are only 17 months after all) but apart from the initial whack you gave him, disguised as a cuddle, you’ve been Interested but not phased by the new addition.
